Despite the brand’s reputation for reliability, a Mac computer can experience reduced performance over time. As with all computers and electronic gadgets, there are a number of factors that can affect the way a Mac computer works. To ensure that you get optimum benefits from your Mac, here are some tips:
Basic features of an Apple Mac computer
Aside from its sleek and environment-friendly casing, Mac’s biggest edge is its operating system. Mac OS X allows for user-friendly and attractive graphical interface. In addition, it has strong protection against bugs and viruses, as all the components of a Mac were designed and built by Apple, making your computer a unified unit. Today’s desktop Mac computers enable wireless Internet and device connection. Mac OS X is well-equipped to recognize various devices, freeing you of the need to find, install, and update your drivers every now and then. It also comes with many interesting and useful widgets, such as iLife, which allows you to create movies, organize photo albums, design websites, and learn to play piano and the guitar.
Tips to maximize your Apple Mac's performance
If you don’t have the budget to make upgrades just yet, there are effective albeit temporary solutions to any performance issues your Mac may have. You may remove applications that you don’t use and disable actions that your computer automatically makes (except security measures). This may mean removing unnecessary components and using utility software that cleans your hard drive and saves disk space. Of course, you can always add RAM to make your computer work faster.
Sure, Mac computers are top-of-the-line, but this doesn’t mean that they will stay in top condition for a long time without proper care and maintenance. To optimize your Mac’s performance, keep an eye on your system activity and remove unnecessary files and applications from your hard drive.

There has to be a reason why Apple iBooks continue to sell like pancakes, and this reason may vary from person to person. Some are simply attracted to its sleek design and the reputation that comes with the brand name. More tech-savvy individuals find that the iBook series is way ahead of standard laptops. Here are some of the reasons why they think so:
Features of the Apple iBooks in general
When Clamshell, the first iBook model, was released in 1999, it gave a whole new image to notebooks. Its shape and color choices were revolutionary, and it was the first to come with wireless Internet connectivity and a handle for increased portability. Although latter models reverted to the standard rectangular notebook shape, iBook didn’t sacrifice aesthetics and form with its glossy white exterior and soft-touch keyboard. Although it runs only from between 64 to 128 MB RAM, the iBook does not lag behind notebooks and desktop PCs with higher RAM capacity in executing applications. It also has great screen resolution, built-in microphone, dual USB ports, 30 GB hard drive, and 6-hour battery life. What seems to be iBook’s best feature, however, is AppleWorks, which is a great productivity suite.
Other things you can do with Apple iBooks
iBooks come with the AppleWorks package that helps you with word processing, creating spreadsheets and presentations, and drawing. Its bright screen is also great for watching videos and viewing images. You can also connect to the Internet wherever you are, as it has a built-in modem and Ethernet plus wireless networking capacity.
Even today, the iBook series fares well compared with its cutting-edge brother, the PowerBook. They are also cheaper and more portable.

Apple Computer Inc., is raising the white flag as it refuses to file an appeal in the case that will eventually force PowerPage and AppleInsider to give out their sources of information. The court in California made a decision in favor of several online journalists who chose not to name their sources. Those sources allegedly leaked important information about Apple's upcoming product. The company's deadline for the appeal has already elapsed.
Wednesday, April 25. 2007
Apple filed the case in an attempt to know who gave out information about their new digital music device called "Asteroid" which is not yet released in the market. The company tried to get news sources via a subpoena to PowerPage's email provider Nfox.com to get e-mail messages that may contain names that cause the leakage. Both blog sites in question made an appeal that said Apple's attempt dampens confidentiality of media sources and furthermore, it ruins the concept of independent media.
Tuesday, April 24. 2007
The court decided that blog writers and Internet-based publications share the same privilege of protecting the privacy of their sources as with other media forms like print and broadcasting. The court's decision was derived on the California reporter's shield law and the constitutional privilege against disclosure of confidential sources. Personally, I think this decision might only encourage bloggers to post information about future computer products. The belligerent company is still currently engaged in different case against another Apple-related site.

There's no point denying that Apple Computer Inc is really dead serious in playing its role as the digital educator. After closing a four-year agreement of providing computers to public school students with the governor of Maine this month, the company announced recently that it'll be replacing its eMac series with a better collection that is deemed to be very ideal for studying. The 17" iMac is created to answer all the computing needs of parents, students and teachers.

The latest iMac model has something on the ball: it runs on the fast dual-core Intel engine processor that will enable it to manage even the most demanding office applications. What I love about this new computer is that it's packed with all the powerful Apple features like the iWeb, iMovieHD, iPhoto, GarageBand, and the iDVD. Having kids as the company's target market is Apple's new business strategy. They want kids or students to become accustomed with Mac computers at an early age because the company believes that they'll be composing the future generation of consumers.I think everything in this computer is quite good except for the price. The computer costs $900 each, and I don't think that is really an affordable price for students.

Kids today are really, really lucky. Imagine: they just go to school, run around, kick each other's ass, and they've got themselves a new laptop. These nasty little bastards don't know anything except litter the walls, and throw crumpled papers on the floor. And I don't think they deserve to have a computer, let alone a pet crocodile.
This computer-for-kids thingy is a project by the globe-trotter governor of Maine who aims to close the gap between the rich and poor pupils when it comes to technology. Okay, I will not go against his grain for this. At least, he has found good use for the people's money rather than put them in his bank accounts.
But I suggest that like Santa Claus, gov should only give computers to those who rightfully deserve to have one like the really poor kids who want to finish school. As for the rich spoiled brats, I suggest put them all in a sack and feed them to the crocodiles in Florida. At least, the governor will find good use for those critters. Anyway, Apple Computer Inc will be the one to help make the techno-project push through. If I'm not mistaken, over thirty thousand iBooks will be given to every Maine pupil.

I've been a Mac user for nearly five years, and for the longest time I never had a problem using it. This new white MacBook looks really divine, pure, and virginal. I like it because like other Mac products, the new MacBook is so intuitive, well-detailed, and easy-to-use.
However, after three months of using it, I saw stains in its keyboard. Dark, oddly-shaped stains surround the smooth touchpad. "Hell, some idiot touched my precious with his filthy hands!" I was so furious. Not to mention murderous that I want to twist the esophagus of the fucking pervert who harassed my laptop.
"Iannis, calm down will you." It's my buddy, Carl. He said that nobody touched my machine and explained that Apple Computer Inc had manufacturing problems with regard to the new models. The discoloration dilemma was, perhaps, due to the thermoplastic that the company used for the laptops' keyboards.
"Oh, but thermoplastics are for iPod shuffles?" I asked curiously. And Carl said he heard people talking about thermoplastics and the MacBook problem. And that if I want to have it fixed, I must call AppleCare as soon as possible. Anyway, with the hysteria brought by the stains, he is sure that hundreds of mad Mac users will be bombarding the company this month.

According to reports by the website AllHipHop.com, Apple is currently working on an inexpensive line of Mac computers together in collaboration with rapper 50 Cent, Curtis Jackson in real life. The inexpensive Macs are available for those who cannot afford the expensive Mac computers that are already in the market. Both Apple and 50 Cent are known for co-branding products, so it is yet unclear whether the reports were indeed true. Needless to say, the move is aimed to increase the sales of Mac computers with the 50 Cent edition just as the U2 edition of the iPods did well in terms of sales.
In a recent article in the Forbes Magazine, manager of 50 Cent Chris Lighty of Violator Management said that the deal between 50 Cent and Apple is all about business. Apple has very minimal shares in the competition, with the move, it is expected that 50 Cent fans can be encourage to buy an Apple computer. But as we can see it the aims of the rapper are indeed noble; the computers are targeting those who are living in poor communities that cannot afford to splurge thousands of dollars for a Mac computer. The rapper has also done other branding deals with other companies, the most recent of which is a clothing line with Marc Ecko in 2003.

The news regarding Apple's lost battle in court has been doing the rounds on the internet these past few days. According to reports, Apple has lost a lawsuit which it filed against blog sites namely AppleInsider and Powerpage.org regarding the trade secrets that have been leaked to these tech sites. Both sites published information regarding a product which was hidden under the code name Asteroid or Q97 in 2004.
The trade secrets were related to details of an unreleased product. It has something to do with an application that allows users to record analogue audio within the GarageBand, Apple's software that allows Mac users to create their own music. Apple claims that the bloggers did not exercise editorial oversight and the information was written verbatim amounting to theft.
The lower court ruled in favor of Apple saying that it has rights to the records of the blog sites. On appeal, the decision was, however, overturned. Three judges from the State of California Court of Appeals were not impressed with Apple's claims. The judges held that the bloggers were journalists as well and deserve protection from federal and state law. Tough luck for Apple and I must say, the incident was very fortunate for those bloggers.

Of course, Apple will not let itself be bogged down by competition. That is why even if there are strong rivals in wireless industry, like Logitech, Apple will make sure that its computers and other products would not be left behind by the technology craze. So, it is no surprise that most of the time, Apple can surpass its contenders because of the added features and advantages that their innovations bring.
Take the case of their wireless keyboard. Even from afar, the wireless keyboard of Apple is already an obvious trademark of the brand mainly because of its white and translucent design. Being a wireless keyboard, it provides you with versatility and flexibility that you need, especially when you are not in front of the computer. The new keyboard includes user-friendly function keys and numeric keypad, navigation keys, and multimedia controls. You only have to use four AA batteries for this type of keyboard and the auto switch lets you conserve energy when the keyboard is idle.
Now, that's not so bad in stretching your budget, is it? What's greater in this package is that it is also Bluetooth-enabled so getting in sync with your contact and data list in your mobile phone or PDA would not be a problem.

I remember a few years back when Apple released their computers, I was ecstatic. Not that I was a computer geek at that time, I just couldn't contain my excitement because of the pretty jelly-colored hardware. There were translucent red, green, yellow, and blue. I begged my dad to send me one at the dormitory, but he didn't want to. He said it was like other monitors, only it is colored outside.
But to my surprise when they visited me in the university, my parents brought me a big box with a red monitor in it. I felt so happy. I still use that monitor, love it to death.

Apple Computers was the first computer to introduce the graphical user interface in their Macintosh technology. They are also the first one to use and promote the mouse as the ultimate controls for a computer. Macintosh was launched in 1984.
A year later, Microsoft launched the Windows to compete with them. With that occurrence, everything changed for Apple Computers. They somewhat lost the battle that time. But now, they have become again one of the super-powers of the electronic age with their powerbooks, ipods, and colorful computer hardware.

If you can’t afford a Ferrari, then might as well get this for your PC.
